Dog Care: Making your Dog bark where necessary!!

It is evident that dogs need to bark, and we all know that. Since I was a young kid, I have loved dogs, and I have learned that dogs can communicate their feelings and thoughts like human beings.

Dogs communicate by getting our attention to notify us of visitors' presence, enjoy our company expressed through playfulness, and even warn of impending danger. Aren't they fantastic creatures?

Barking correctly work since it is hard to ignore, and it often gets a reinforcement of some kind that results in a repeat of the same! Dogs communicate through other ways like body language, making barking a more noticeable form of communication that calls for a quick assessment to know why they feel the urge. It is essential to know that we should never stop our dogs from barking, but we should train them to bark when necessary.

We can make our dogs bark when necessary by offering a distraction. Leaving a dog to bark for a long time makes it develop a habit of barking unnecessarily.

We should not command them to shut up or shout at them; instead, creating a distraction by getting them to do something else like engaging them in some playful movements reduces the chances of proceeding with the barking.

It is also good to appreciate them with positive remarks like "Thank you." We can also train our dogs to bark where necessary by reducing the chances of access to problems. Securing our dogs makes them calmer, rest well as well as reduces chances of barking.

Like human beings, dogs require physical exercise. The provision of mental and physical workout is also a basic need that needs to be met.

A short routinely walks as a form of physical exercise is never enough and may lead to unnecessary barking.

Adequate mental and physical exercise helps the dog to settle better. Our reactions to them, even when they are not barking, would also determine their barking habits. Dogs need to be looked at, talked to, and rewarded by engaging them or stroking them. Dogs reciprocate when treated right!
